ABOUT

Jared graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from James Madison University, and has performed in a variety of venues including The Kennedy Center and Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas. He has also performed internationally, including several trips throughout Central America on UVA’s MV Explorer Ship. He has taught throughout the Richmond area, performed in area churches, and performs with the Richmond Ballet.

Jared is known around the Richmond metro area and beyond for his dynamic piano style that ranges from  jazz to ragtime, gospel to hymns, and show tunes and pop to classical. He is inspired by the universality of music as a tool to communicate emotions and ideas. He is interested in spreading the joy and healing power of music through performance and teaching.

Jared’s teaching philosophy is based on targeting private lessons to the individual student, focusing on their goals and passions while teaching fundamentals: technique, musical expression, sight reading, and music theory.
