David Raposo

ABOUT​

David Raposo graduated James Madison University in May of 2017, with bachelor's degrees in both Music for Cello Performance and Computer Science. Born in Portugal, David began playing the cello at the age of 5 and has been studying solo, chamber, and orchestral repertoire for a majority of his life. Since moving to Virginia at the age of 8, David has led the cello sections of the Richmond Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO), Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra, James Madison University Symphony Orchestra, Short Pump Symphonette, and played with many more. David has experience teaching students and adults of all levels, from beginners to highly advanced players. He currently resides in Richmond, serving as Principal Cellist of the RPO and playing chamber music with friends around the city.
